SDL3 + Tons of Quality of Life [Devlog 9]


Major Devlog!

Hello everyone! This month has been a big one for void◆sprite, with an unparalleled amount of new features having been added, as well as a few fixes to old ones. Above all, void◆sprite now runs on SDL3, and as such you, the user, are encouraged to report any bugs that may have found their way into the update! Speaking of…

New Features

  • Direct LMU loading - Having fixed a few issues with the rendering of LMU maps, you can now drag-and-drop them on the launchpad for all of your RPGMaker2000/2003 needs!

  • Fill tool now respects selected patterns!

  • Improved Windows Ink support for all graphic tablet users!

  • HSL, YCBR and CMYK colour models!

  • Middle + Left mouse button to zoom with mouse movement!

  • Recovery autosaves every 20 minutes (adjustable) in order to prevent accidental loss of work!

  • Delete key removes whole selection / layer!

  • Quantize colour, Pixelize, Stride Glitch, Invert, Brightness/Contrast adjustment filters added! All filters now also only apply to selected area.

  • Add Reference Image to Editor allows to drag and drop an image to use as reference material! the reference window is movable and collapsable.

  • Isolate Rect tool acts as wand select on double click!

  • Hover over other opened workspaces to preview them!

  • Undo/Redo now count as unsaved changes!

  • F1 allows to hide UI!

  • Colour and tool pickers are now collapsable!

  • A large part of the UI has recieved a small restyle!

  • Scale image to size implemented!

  • Pixel Studio project file improved compatibility, although still not as full as we’d like. Compressed Pixel Studio format (PSX) is also now supported.

  • Base64 string PNG’s can now be loaded from clipboard on launchpad!

  • New layers are inserted above the currently selected layer, and not on top of all layers!

  • Isolate by layer alpha is now possible!

  • Holding ctrl allows to add more to the current selection!

  • Piskel import/export!

  • the Outline tool is now a filter, with adjustable width!

  • Aseprite import/export!

  • Improved VTF import, as well as added export!

  • Colour list feature! Custom palettes can be added by adding them to appdata/palettes

  • Monochrome/RGBA noise generation!
